Another Awesome Year Comes to a Close!

As we bring the 2017-2018 school year to a close, let me say that it has been an awesome, exciting, adventure-filled year! Did I also say that it has flown by?

The staff at RCES takes pride in the work that is done and the trust that you put with us in your children. We have all worked very hard this year and sweet summer time is almost upon us. While you take this time with your children, please remember that instruction can be lost over the summer so be sure to make them read some good books and do some math online with Reflexmath.com.

When you come to your child’s awards ceremony, take a look at the lost and found rack to see if there is a coat or two you might be missing. What is not picked up will be donated to the Cheese and Cracker Box.

We are also asking that if you have any gently used clothing, appropriate for school, that you consider donating it to our Clothes Closet here at school. We are running low at this time of the year and would love to have it replenished for August. These clothes really come in handy when accidents of any kind occur at school and a student needs a change of clothing. Thank you to those that do this yearly.

We have our Summer Reading Camp beginning for rising 3rd through 5th graders. If your student was invited to attend please have them here daily! These spots are so valuable and others could take their spot if they do not keep their attendance up. Our Math Jump Start Camp will start in July – again - if your child is chosen you will receive an invitation in the mail or a phone call. The spots for both of these camps are based on grades, test scores, and teacher recommendation, therefore we ask that you not call the school to see if your child can attend.

In conclusion, if I do not see you at one of the many awards’ programs - enjoy the summer vacation, stay safe, and make some memories with “our” children that they will tell us all about in August!
