RCES is very pleased to be the recipient of the Boeing Wellness Grant for this year!

RCES is very pleased to be the recipient of the Boeing Wellness Grant for this year!  We have worked really hard to instill a culture of wellness and help prevent obesity where children and adults learn more about staying healthy which leads to success in school and thrives in life.  We had grade level taste testing opportunities for students to try some “unfamiliar” vegetables, planted gardens and even make our own compost thanks to Mrs. Mary Ida Padgett and some students in her and Mrs. Merchant’s class!  Water bottles in classrooms quench thirsty mouths throughout the day and “brain” breaks during class time give students the opportunity to get up, move around to release some energy, and get rejuvenated to finish the lesson.   Way to go RCES!
